A Few Digitals

Here’s a few digital images that I thought I should put somewhere before my hard drive crashes again and they’re lost forever.

Dr. Sketchy Watercolors

I took watercolors to the Dr Sketchy today.  The Dr Sketchy is where they get a burlesque dancer to pose in scandalous outfits and drinking is encouraged.  I never win the model’s favorite drawing award.  The competition is stiff in this town.  Lots of game companies and animation studios, per capita.  I have it all planned out what to do if I win.  I’ll offer to give it to them, tell them that I need to sign it and hand it over with my phone number written on it.  I believe that this would be a good way to inject some sleaze into what might have been a nice memory for them.

Here’s the results of the Dr. Sketchy:

A Digital Quickie

So I was painting a picture of lesbians and it turned into this.  I figured I’d put it up since I’ve been lax about updating recently and I know my fans are clamoring for more.  So here it is.  Now I’m off to watch a beard and moustache competition.

Life Drawing Dump

Well, I went about five days without drawing naked people.  Today I got back on the wagon.  I had to, I was getting shaky.  Here’s the results.  Pencil on white paper, back to the basics today.

More Watercolor Paintings

That’s right kids, here’s some more of that watercolor that you crave.  I took my little kit into a figure drawing session and this is what happened.  Messy, drippy, but I’ve seen and done worse.  Putting these things on a scanner really bleaches them out.  Either it’s burn the hell out of them on a scanner or make them blurry and orange with the digital camera.  I think it’s time to look into upgrading my process for getting paintings into the computer.

Oh yeah, and this is what happens when I start mixing the watercolors with digital stuff.

Naked People Extravaganza

That’s right kids, it’s time for another epic post of naked folk. I’ve had a fever, and the only aspirin is drawing naked people.

For some reason it’s much easier to draw guy than girls. I compare it to pool. When you have wide open shot with lots of green between you and the ball you’re trying to hit, it looks really easy, but I find I almost always miss those. It’s the gritty shots where I’m trying to snake it in between other balls that I find I manage to sink it in the hole. Girls are just too smooth, there’s no detail to latch onto. That’s why I feel the drawings of guys are better than the ones of the girl.

Here’s a couple of other random things I had lying around I figured I might as well throw into this post.  The first is a photo manipulation of one of the figure drawings from above.  The other a digital painting.  I need to get a better digital camera because this one will only shoot 1600×1200 and that’s really not high enough resolution if I wanted to do one of these manipulations for print.
